Reborn Husband Claims I Am A Cheater
Jaxon woke up from a coma and claimed he had been reborn.
He said that three years into our marriage, I would betray him.
According to his vision, I'd fall for a college student and leave Jaxon with nothing just to get a divorce.
To get ahead of the heartbreak, Jaxon decided to strike first.
He started a second family with another woman, and she had already given him a son and a daughter.
I didn't scream or fight him.
When we finally walked out of the courthouse, I just asked him one thing calmly.
"Jaxon, did it ever occur to you that I only became that person because of what you did to me?"
He stayed silent for a long time.
As it turned out, Jaxon had failed me twice.
The day Jaxon turned cold toward me, I had no idea what I'd done wrong.
It was like he became a different person overnight.
He stopped looking me in the eye and stopped caring if I was warm or fed.
We had only been married for a month.
Without a word, he moved out of our bedroom.
The day he carried his pillows to the guest room, I sat on the bed and cried, asking him why.
"Jaxon, if you don't love me, why did you marry me?
"If you want a divorce, we can go sign the papers tomorrow!"
Something I said must have triggered him.
Jaxon slammed his pillow onto the floor.
He grabbed my shoulders and spat the most venomous words I had ever heard.
He called me disgusting.
He called me shameless.
He said I didn't deserve a single ounce of his love.
I was stunned. Without thinking, I lashed out with my fresh manicure, scratching his face.
Jaxon didn't even fight back.
He just gave me a deep, chilling look before driving away with blood dripping down his cheek.
A few days later, I heard the news from my friends.
Jaxon was openly keeping a girl on the side.
He wasn't even trying to hide it from me.
I went to confront them, and I ended up pinning the girl to the floor and hitting her.
Jaxon just stood in the doorway, watching calmly.
He didn't help her; he just watched me turn into a screaming, hysterical lunatic.
I was losing my mind because of him.
I couldn't understand why he suddenly stopped loving me.
I wasn't afraid of a divorce, but I needed a reason.
I finally got that reason when Jaxon literally threw me out of the house.
He told me he was a time traveler who had been reborn.
He claimed that in three years, I would shamelessly cheat on him with a younger man.
He said I would tear our lives apart for a college kid.
The tears fell even harder then.
I couldn't believe such an absurd, pathetic excuse.
"Believe it or not, Serena. But this time, I'm the one who stopped loving you first."
Jaxon meant what he said.
A month after moving in with that girl, she was pregnant.
He told her to keep the baby.
During that time, everyone tried to convince me to leave.
They told me if it was over, I should just walk away.
But how could I be satisfied with that?
Why should I let him and his mistress live happily ever after while my life was in ruins?
As long as I refused to sign the papers, his woman and kids would always be illegitimate.
Just to spite him, I wasted three years of my youth in that hollow marriage.
But in the end, it felt like I was the only one trapped.
In three years, he had two children.
My persistence had become a joke.
Jaxon's daughter was having her one-month celebration.
Most of the Reed family relatives went to attend.
I saw the photos of their "happy family of four" in the family group chat.
Jaxon's parents were the ones who posted them.
Three years had passed, and everyone knew there was no hope for Jaxon and me.
Since a divorce was inevitable, nobody cared about my feelings anymore.
"Two kids in three years, a boy and a girl. Jaxon is so blessed!" one relative wrote.
"The little boy looks exactly like his dad did as a kid. He's going to be a handful for his grandparents!" another added.
"If only Serena would just sign the papers, they could all move into the main house together. It's so much trouble this way!"
Our marital home was in the same gated community as the Reed family estate, just a three-minute walk away.
They were blaming me.
They resented me for not being "sensible" enough to step aside for Jaxon's new family.
If this were the old me, I would have clung to Jaxon out of pure spite.
Even if it meant dragging myself into the abyss.
But for some reason, the fire in my heart suddenly went out.
I actually started thinking about the divorce.
If we did it, how much money should I ask for?
I definitely wasn't leaving without a massive payout.
As I was thinking, the front door swung open.
Jaxon stood there, reeking of alcohol, staring at me with an unreadable expression.
"Serena, are you suffering?
"Does it hurt to see me building a family with another woman?"
I didn't expect him to come back.
Usually, he only contacted me when I made trouble for him and Mia.
He would only come home to yell at me for upsetting his mistress.
Aside from that, he hadn't stepped foot in this house for a long time.
When I didn't answer, Jaxon dropped his half-smoked cigarette.
He asked again, more intensely.
"Does it hurt?"
Maybe a little, but not nearly as much as before.
Three years is a long time.
Long enough for me to get used to sleeping alone.
Long enough to forget what it felt like to actually have a husband.
I shook my head and spoke calmly.
"No, Jaxon. I don't think I love you as much as I thought I did."
A flash of hurt crossed his face.
He looked down, and after a moment, he let out a cynical laugh.
"You're lying.
"You brought this on yourself, Serena. I had to suffer through this pain because of you once before."
It seemed he only came back to say those few words.
Jaxon didn't even change his shoes or go into the bedroom; he turned to leave immediately.
His phone rang a second later.
He paused, his back to me, and answered the call.
He put it on speakerphone on purpose.
I heard Mia's sweet, high-pitched voice.
"Jaxon, where are you? I just got out of the shower and you were gone."
Jaxon turned slightly, his gaze landing on me.
A faint, mocking smile played on his lips.
"I'm out getting those things we need, sweetie. Remember? We ran out of boxes last night."
My hands clenched into fists.
I had overestimated myself. Hearing that still sent a sharp sting through my heart.
Seeing my reaction, Jaxon's smile widened.
His voice became even more tender for the woman on the phone.
"Be good and wait for me. I'm coming home right now."
After hanging up, Jaxon didn't leave immediately as he'd said.
He walked toward my bed, step by step.
His long fingers gripped my chin and forced my face up.
To his surprise, there were no tears. I was smiling faintly.
"Jaxon, I don't think I can cry for you anymore.
"Does that mean my feelings for you are finally dead?"
I wasn't an idiot.
I knew everything Jaxon did was for revenge.
He was punishing me for things he claimed another version of me did in a past life.
I still didn't believe the rebirth story.
But whether it was true or not, the only power Jaxon had over me was my love for him.
Once that was gone, I had nothing to fear.
The smile on my face seemed to drive him mad. His eyes turned bloodshot.
He suddenly shoved me down onto the bed.
He grabbed a pillow and pressed it hard over my face.
"Don't smile, Serena. You aren't allowed to smile.
"How dare you stop loving me? How dare you move on while I'm living in this hell?"
I didn't expect him to snap like that.
As I struggled for air, he finally realized what he was doing and pulled away.
I gasped for breath, my lungs burning.
Jaxon suddenly pulled me into his arms, his body shaking uncontrollably.
"Serena, if I forgive you, will you stay and be a good wife again?"
That night, Jaxon tried to stay.
He even started taking off his clothes.
But I had regained my strength, and I literally chased him out with a toilet brush.
I didn't take his "fresh start" offer seriously for a second.
I wasn't interested in recycling trash.
After he left, I called my lawyer to draft a divorce agreement.
I didn't have many conditions.
I just wanted a settlement so large it would make his eyes water.
Since the love was gone, I might as well take the money.
As for Mia, the woman who gave him two kids, I felt nothing.
Those children were her golden ticket for life.
As long as she didn't screw up, she would likely be the next Mrs. Reed.
Jaxon's parents hadn't liked her at first, but they adored their grandkids.
They had accepted the situation because of the children.
Mia wasn't some random girl from a club; she had worked hard at Jaxon's company for two years.
Her background was clean enough for the Reed family to accept her.
I accepted it too.
I couldn't keep making myself miserable just to spite them like I did three years ago.
The next day, my friends invited me out shopping.
They knew I had been down and wanted to cheer me up.
I realized I hadn't been out in ages.
I put on a new dress that had been gathering dust and did my makeup.
But as soon as I opened the front door, Mia was there with her two-year-old son.
The little boy was wearing polished black leather shoes.
He hid behind his mother, staring at me with curious eyes.
My heart twinged.
I didn't want to be sad.
But seeing that faceDwhich was a seventy-percent match for a young JaxonDstill hurt.
Mia turned pale and raised her voice.
"What are you doing?
"Serena, if you dare touch my son, I'll kill you!"
If she was so afraid of me, why did she bring the child to my doorstep?
Was she not afraid I'd actually snap and do something?
I walked down the steps.
I looked at this woman who was dressed in designer clothes, pampered by Jaxon for three years.
I let out a cold snort.
"Mia, you're a pathetic mother.
"Using your own son as a pawn? Even I'm not as heartless as you."
She had brought the boy here just to provoke me.
But she was even more ruthless than I thought.
As I brushed past her, she flashed me a triumphant, wicked grin.
Then, she reached out and shoved her own son.
The little boy fell hard on his backside, scraping his palms.
He burst into loud, panicked wailing.
The crying immediately brought Jaxon and his mother running out of the nearby house.
"Serena, what did you do to my grandson?"
Mrs. Reed came charging at me like a bull.
She swung her hand to slap me, but I stepped aside.
She hit nothing but air.
I wasn't about to stand there and take a hit for something I didn't do.
She glared at me but didn't have time to chase me.
She scrambled to pick up her precious grandson.
Jaxon's brow furrowed with displeasure as he stared at me.
"Serena, he's my son. You have no right to touch him.
"If I see this again, I'll treat you exactly like I did last night. You hate me? I'll give you a real reason to hate me."
This time, his words didn't hurt.
They just made me feel nauseous.
I realized I was finally truly done with him.
I looked up at the security camera by the door and reached for my phone.
Mia leaned her weight against Jaxon's chest, looking fragile.
"Jaxon, it wasn't her fault. The little guy just tripped. Don't blame her.
"Even though she hates me, she wouldn't be so insane as to hurt a two-year-old. She has no reason to."
Mrs. Reed exploded at that.
"What do you mean, no reason?
"She's desperate for Jaxon to come back! She thinks if the kids are out of the way, she'll have a chance!"
Mia lowered her head, pressing closer to Jaxon.
"Oh no! Is my baby in danger then?"
Watching her terrible acting, I really wanted to slap her.
But I looked at the little boy, who had stopped crying, and held back.
Instead, I opened the security app on my phone and played the footage.
"I don't accept false accusations.
"Jaxon, watch it yourself."
The video clearly showed Mia pushing the child.
After watching it, Jaxon looked sick with regret.
He reached out to touch my arm, but I flinched away.
His eyes went red. He couldn't believe I loathed him this much.
Mrs. Reed saw the video too.
She turned around and delivered a massive slap to Mia's face.
"You snake! How dare you hurt my grandson? Do it again and I'll make Jaxon dump you!"
I tucked my phone away and took a deep breath.
"Jaxon, let's get a divorce."
