Heiress Revealed, Digging Her Grave

Heiress Revealed, Digging Her Grave

My sister, Vanessa, fell head over heels for Alexander Grant at first sight.

To climb into the Grant heirs bed, she drugged him at a charity gala without hesitation.

I was made deliver the drugged drink to Alexander for her.

However, then I managed to stop her attempt by warning:

The Grant family's influence spanned both sides of the law. They were not people we could afford to cross.

Alexander ended up easing his discomfort with another woman that night.

When he announced his engagement with that woman the next morning, Vanessa pushed me off the highway overpass on our drive back.

I died instantly, destroyed beyond recognition by a speeding truck.

My drifting consciousness caught Vanessa curse me for ruining her chance to marry into wealth.

When I opened my eyes again, I was reborn back to the gala night.

This time, I was going to sit back and let her destroy herself!

Watching Alexander swallow the spiked champagne, Vanessa beamed with calculation across the ball room.

Two minutes later, the drug took effect.

His face flushed unnaturally red.

The Grants private security detail immediately moved in, supporting him as they escorted him upstairs.

I gave Vanessa a thumbs-up and handed her the key card to the suite.

Just as I tried to slip away, she grabbed my arm.

Her voice was a low, threatening hiss,

"Until this is done, you're not going anywhere!"

"You stay outside that door and keep watch! If Grant's men show up, you know exactly what to say!"

She expected me to object like I always did before, but this time, I just shook off her grip.

Glancing towards the security guys who had already noticed her lurking, I smiled coldly.

"Relax, you're my sister. I would definitely help you."

"Just dont forget me when you're Mrs Grant."

In the past life, she blamed me for ruining her golden ticket, leading to my terrible death.

This time, I wouldn't stop her. I'd give her a helping hand.

Let's see how far she could dig her own grave!

Vanessa didn't question it, just lifted her chin arrogantly.

"Smart girl. Once I'm part of the Grant family, I'll set you up with a nice driver or secretary. Plenty to keep you comfortable for life!"

"And keep your mouth shut upstairs. If anyone asks, you're just a server waiting for Mr Grant's instructions."

"Screw this up for me, and you know what will happen!"

She shot me a venomous look before dragging me upstairs with her.

Security guarded the suite door. Vanessa used the excuse of bringing water to slip inside.

Soon, a heavy thud sounded from within.

Moments later, Vanessa was dragged out unconscious.

Five security guards leered, their expressions predatory, as they hauled her into the neighboring suite.

Seeing that, I breathed a sigh of relief, ready to leave.

But the next second, something hard slammed into the back of my head.

Everything went black.

I woke up bound to a bedpost with silk scarves.

Above me was Alexander's face, glistening with sweat.

My eyes widened. I tried to cry out.

He silenced me with his mouth.

"Don't think I didn't know that drink was spiked."

"Since you delivered it, you get to clean up your own mess..."

My protests were swallowed by ragged breaths and desperate moans.

Struggling violently drained my last reserves of strength.

Whatever drug Vanessa had found, it kept Alexander going relentlessly until dawn.

Exhausted and aching, I waited until he finally slept before untying the scarves and pulling on my clothes.

Alexander had a reputation for being ruthless. I wasn't stupid like Vanessa.

I wasn't sticking around for his inevitable revenge.

After meticulously erasing every trace of myself from the room, I fled.

Just before leaving, I glanced towards Vanessa's room.

The door was slightly ajar.

Security guards uniforms five sets of them were scattered everywhere.

She lay on the bed, utterly unconscious.

I didn't make a sound and left.

Back home, my parents jumped up the moment I walked in.

Not seeing Vanessa, their faces instantly darkened.

"Maya? Where's your sister? Why are you alone?"

Remembering how, in my past life, they blamed me for ruining Vanessa's chance and didn't even claim my body, my own expression hardened.

"Maybe she overdid the drugs. Mr Grant might still be... occupied."

Mom's anger instantly melted into a beaming smile.

"I knew Vanessa had what it takes! Not like some people, useless dead weight."

"Twenty years of feeding you, and you're still just a worthless burden!"

My father didn't even look at me, urgently telling Mom to make some soup for Vanessa when she came back.

I ignored them, sinking onto the couch.

The pot had barely started simmering when Vanessa walked in.

She limped, her neck a canvas of purple bruises.

She seemed completely unaware of who had been with her last night.

Seeing me, she immediately launched into accusations in front of our parents.

She blamed me for not keeping proper watch, for not helping her clean the mess.

Mom flew into a rage.

She slapped me hard across the face, screaming,

"Useless! I knew we couldn't count on you! What good are you? How did I end up with such a worthless daughter like you?"

"Vanessa finally gets a shot at the big leagues, and you not only refuse to help, you sneak off!"

"Too stupid to grab money falling from the sky! You'll be a broke wage-slave forever!"

Clutching my stinging cheek, I was almost amused by her shamelessness.

"Working a job means I earn my own money. Selling myself? That's a line I won't cross!"

Dad snapped. He grabbed the heavy crystal ashtray from the coffee table and hurled it at my head.

Blood instantly soaked my shirt.

He didn't even flinch, just kept yelling,

"Work! Work! That's all you care about!"

"Relying on your paycheck, your mother and I will be cold in the grave before we see a dime of comfort!"

"Not only are you a failure yourself, you dare insult your sister? Know your place, you useless thing!"

"We should've sold you off years ago! Saved us the trouble!"

I pressed lots of tissue to the gash on my forehead, but the bleeding wouldn't stop.

Disgusted by them, I shot back,

"I'm your daughter! Not a piece of meat at the market!"

"So desperate to pimp out your daughters? Why not just open a brothel?"

"Every cent I earn is mine! What's wrong with making my own way?"

"If you hate me so much, why did you even have me?"

A flicker of panic crossed both my parents' eyes.

Before they could react, Vanessa sneered,

"Don't waste breath on her. Once I have Alexs baby and become Mrs Grant, she'll be crawling back, begging."

Instantly, my parents forgot about scolding me, bombarding her with questions about last night.

Vanessa was shy,

"You have no idea. Alexander isn't the cold fish the rumors say. He kept me up all night. I'm still sore."

"Only thing is, he was gone when I woke up. Just left a bank card."

"But with so many rounds we went, I'm definitely pregnant. The title is mine!"

My parents laughed hysterically, already picturing themselves as Grant in-laws.

They had no clue about the Grants' real power, what that name truly meant.

Daring to scheme against the Grant heir? They wouldn't even see death coming.

My priority was cutting ties. Fast.

They were fawning over Vanessa now, praising their golden girl.

I seized the chance to mock their greedy, grasping nature.

Predictably, they exploded.

Dad kicked me off the couch, tore the page with my name from the family registry, and threw it at me.

"Get out! Now! I don't have a daughter as useless as you!"
