The Moon Progeny's Revenge

The Moon Progeny's Revenge

1.

In my past life, my Alpha husband loathed the Omega black wolf pup I bore him.

He killed our child with his own hands, then tore me to shreds with silver-tipped claws. As I died, I cursed him to an eternity in the abyss. I watched his body fall with mine into the cold, moonlit depths of the chasm.

When I opened my eyes again, I was back.

It was the day of the joint ceremony, the day he was to choose his mate. This time, he didn't hesitate to choose my sisterDa Beta grey wolf, just one step above an Omega.

The look he gave me was filled with bone-deep hatred.

I knew. He was reborn, too.

In our last life, my sister, Chloe, was just an ordinary Beta. I was a high-born Silver Moon Alpha, second only to the legendary Golden bloodline. My husband had chosen me without a second thought.

Later, Chloe married a common Alpha but gave birth to a pure-blooded Golden pup, becoming the envy of every wolf pack.

But me? I gave my husband a lowly Omega black wolf, and he became the laughingstock of the entire Werewolf Alliance.

This time, he thought choosing my sister would get him that Golden pup.

But he didn't know. A fancy shell is still just a shell. A bloodline never lies. An Omegas tainted blood could never forge a true Golden heir.

CRACK! Thunder roared. Dozens of enchanted silver chains ripped through the clouds, hurtling toward me.

They tore my flesh from my bones. As I fell, I saw my husband, Damian Blackwood, standing beyond the storm clouds, his eyes filled with vicious cruelty as he watched me sink.

With the blood of the Silver Moon, I curse you, Damian Blackwood, to fall into the abyss this instant!

With my last breath, I whispered the curse.

I watched Damians wolf form collapse under the curse's power, tumbling down to fall into the Moonlit Abyss with me.

Elara, what are you spacing out for?

Someone nudged me. I slowly opened my eyes. It was my father.

Wasnt I just impaled by silver chains?

I blinked hard, trying to shake off the absurd illusion. But it felt too real. Frighteningly real.

I was reborn. And I had returned to the very day Damian was to choose his mate.

Damian, I have two daughters. Which one will you choose?

The speaker was my father, the Alpha of the Silver Moon pack.

My eyes met Damians. I remembered how, in my last life, he had looked at me with such tenderness, handing me the Blackwood familys ceremonial wolf fang without hesitation.

But now, his eyes were filled with nothing but disgust.

My younger daughter, Chloe, may only be a Beta grey wolf, but she has a loyal heart and a gentle nature. I know she has always admired you. If you can return her feelings, I would offer my blessing for this union.

My father stroked his beard. Beside him, Chloe shyly glanced at Damian.

The mating of a Golden Lycan was a major event for the Werewolf Alliance. The pack elders were all here to witness it, for it concerned the continuation of a powerful bloodline.

Despite my fathers words, everyone knew the truth. Damian, a superior Golden Lycan, was expected to choose me, a high-ranking Silver Moon Alpha.

But Damian gave the wolf fang token to my sister, Chloe.

The entire hall gasped in shock. Chloe stared at Damian, her face a mask of disbelief.

In that moment, I was certain. My husband from my past life, Damian, had been reborn as well.

In the last life, just as everyone expected, Damian chose me. Father arranged for Chloe to marry another Silver Moon Alpha from a related pack.

Damian had doted on me. We were the perfect couple, the model for the entire Alliance. That is, until I gave birth to a lowly Omega black wolf pup. Then, everything changed.

The mighty Golden Lycan had fathered an Omega. The entire Alliance mocked him, whispering that his own bloodline was impure.

Meanwhile, Chloe gave birth to a pup with a coat of pure gold. Her home was flooded with visitors, all praising her husbands powerful bloodline.

The humiliation twisted Damian. His temper frayed, and he constantly berated me, openly regretting that he hadnt chosen Chloe as his wife.

The Werewolf Alliance has four bloodline tiers: Omega Black Wolf, Beta Grey Wolf, Alpha Silver Wolf, and Lycan Golden Wolf.

Each tier is further divided into low, mid, and high ranks.

The higher the bloodline, the rarer and more powerful the wolf, and the greater their familys standing in the Alliance.

Thats why werewolves only chose mates with superior bloodlines, to ensure powerful offspring. Of course, there were exceptionsDhigh-bloods birthing low-bloods, and vice versa.

Only after reaching adulthood can a werewolf shift perfectly between their human and wolf forms.

The shame drove Damian to extremes. To save his own face, he started a vicious rumor that I had slept with a stray Omega, which was why I bore such a worthless black wolf.

He smashed our newborn cub with a single swipe of his paw, then summoned the enchanted silver chains to execute me.

I died before I ever had the chance to expose his true face.

Damian was a fraud. A low-tier Omega black wolf, masquerading as a high-ranking Golden Lycan.

2.

My father was stunned by the outcome. My stepmother, however, was beaming. She quickly pulled Chloe forward and began showering her with praise in front of Damian.

I know you are all curious as to why I did not choose Elara.

Damian gave a slight bow to the pack elders. My eyelid twitched.

I will not marry a disloyal woman like her.

Damian pointed a finger at me, his face a mask of righteous anger. The crowd erupted in murmurs.

What nonsense are you spouting!

My father, angered, was the first to speak. No matter what, I was still his daughter.

Alpha Thorne, Damian addressed my father, his tone polite but distant. Please, do not be hasty. Hear me out. On several occasions, I have seen her cavorting with stray wolves from outside our territory. That is why I will never marry her.

Do you have any proof for such an accusation? How dare you slander my name!

I forced myself to act like my younger self, not wanting Damian to suspect I was reborn, too.

Would I, a Golden Lycan, need to slander you?

My father glanced at me, hesitating. My stepmother shot me a venomous look, as if I had brought shame upon our entire family.

Before I could speak again, Damian continued.

Even a high-ranking Silver Moon Alpha with a corrupt character will only birth inferior, mixed-blood pups. Let us all wait and see if my prophecy today proves true.

Golden Lycans possessed the gift of prophecy, but it required a sacrifice of their own lifeblood, so it was rarely used.

With those words, the elders and clan members all began to point and whisper about me.

Fine. Then let time be the judge of who is truly of an inferior bloodline.

I held back my rage, forcing myself to remain calm. I would wait. The day his "Golden pup" was born, I would tear his hypocritical mask away.

Chloes wedding was a magnificent affair. Damian made sure it was a grand spectacle, and they became the talk of the Alliance.

As for me, thanks to Damians words, my reputation was in tatters.

The Alphas who had once come to my family seeking a marriage alliance no longer showed up. They were less concerned with my supposed disloyalty and more terrified of fathering a low-blood pup with me.

In the Werewolf Alliance, a Golden Lycans prophecy was no joke.

Fueled by Damian, the rumors grew wilder. They said I had slept with three stray wolves in one night. Some even claimed to have been with me, describing the scenes in vivid, disgusting detail.

My stepmother, convinced I was a disgrace, gave me nothing but sour looks. My father was at a loss.

I, however, didn't care. My last life had left me completely disillusioned with the idea of marriage.

Three days after their grand wedding, Damian and Chloe came for the customary newlywed visit. The first thing he did upon seeing me was sneer.

Elara, I doubt any wolf would dare marry you now, would they?

Thanks to you, I can finally have some peace and quiet.

Damian looked me up and down, then scoffed.

Without a mate, your heats will only become more unbearable. Forget wild wolvesDIm afraid youll get so desperate youll screw any beast in the forest and birth some monster thats not even a recognizable species. Now that would be a legendary joke.

Hes right, Elara, Chloe chimed in from his side. You cant be picky anymore. Just find an Omega black wolf and settle. Otherwise, if you end up like that, youll be a laughingstock not just to our Alliance, but to every other race out there.

Only married a few days, and already Chloe was his perfect mouthpiece. The two of them were a match made in hell.

Of course, Chloe and I had never been close.

My mother now was my fathers second wife. Chloe and I were only half-sisters, with no real affection between us.

You two dont need to worry about me. Worry about how that belly of yours is going to produce a high-blood pup. After all, a bloodline never lies.

I lowered my gaze to Chloes stomach and curled my lips into a smile.

Damians eyes darkened, a murderous glint flashing within them.

What are you talking about? Damian is a rare Golden Lycan! His pup will be a golden wolf at the very least! Youre just jealous he chose me, so youre saying these nasty things to spite us!

Chloe raised her hand to slap me, acting just as she always had, trying to bully me. I took a step back, having no desire for a petty squabble, and turned to leave.

A barren failure who cant even produce a pup.

3.

Damian's cold voice came from behind me. He wrapped his arm around Chloe, shoved past me, and walked away.

At the banquet that evening, Damian served Chloe food and wiped her mouth, acting the part of the doting, attentive husband. Their newlywed bliss slowly softened my fathers expression, who had still been harboring resentment over Damians prophecy.

The Damian from my last life had been kind to me, but he had never once done something like serve me. In his eyes, I was of a lower status and it was my duty to serve him.

This whole act was just to spite me.

He wasnt the only Golden Lycan in the world. If I could, I would just borrow a seed from another.

Borrow a seed! It was a perfect idea. No marriage, no strings attached. I would birth my own Golden Lycan pup to spite Damian and fulfill the dream of motherhood that was stolen from me.

But all the Golden Lycans I knew were either too old or too young. Where could I find a young one?

Youre looking for a young Golden Lycan?!

I quickly clamped my hand over Liliths mouth.

Can you keep your voice down?

Lilith was the spirit of a thousand-year-old oak tree, and my only friend from another race.

Mmph let go!

I released my hand, and Lilith lowered her voice.

I actually know of an absolutely incredible Golden Lycan.

Really?

Legend has it that in the heart of the forbidden Silent Peak, in a place called the Moonlit Core, lives an Ancestral Golden Lycan. Hes a pureblood, the likes of which your Werewolf Alliance hasnt seen in centuries. Even your pack elders would have to bow to him.

Hes that powerful?

I was skeptical. Lilith had a flair for the dramatic.

Of course! They say any werewolf who has seen him was blinded by the sheer radiance of his golden aura. But ever since he went up to Silent Peak, hes never come down. We cant get up there, so Silent Peak slowly became forbidden ground.

I thought for a moment. It was true; when I was a child, the elders always warned us to stay away from that mountain.

How do you know more about this than I do, a werewolf?

Ive lived for nearly a thousand years. What dont I know?

Lilith flicked me with a hand made of leaves.

So lets just say, hypothetically if I were to borrow a seed from him, would that be possible?

Huh? What?!

Another shriek. I had to cover her mouth again.

Quiet! Dont let anyone hear.

Did I hear you right? Forget the fact that no one can get up that mountain now, and we have no idea what its like up there after all these years you want to borrow a seed from that Golden Lycan? Are you trying to get yourself killed?

How will I know if I dont try? What if I get lucky and find him? Ill just use a little Moonpetal Pollen, sleep with him for a night, and by the next day, hell have forgotten all about our little fling.

Lilith was so shocked my words her mouth hung open wide enough to fit an apple.

I knew how to get onto the mountain.

In my last life with Damian, he had searched for countless forbidden secrets to hide his Omega identity. I remembered one book clearly. It said that the juice of the Golden Glow Grass on Silent Peak, when applied to a wolfs fur, could turn it a brilliant gold that would not fade over time.

To find that herb, Damian had scoured hundreds of ancient texts to find a way onto the mountain.

At the southwest foot of the mountain, there was a runestone, indestructible. By using the blood of a high-ranking Alpha as a catalyst, one could draw a glyph to break the barrier. I still remembered what that glyph looked like.

I remembered how Damian used half a bowl of my blood. But he returned without the herb, grievously injured. He never told me what happened.

Youre really insane. Thats an Ancestral Lycan. If he finds out a wolf of your rank is fantasizing about him, hell tear you to pieces with one swipe.

Lilith gestured with two leaves.

What do you mean, my rank? Im a high-ranking Silver Moon Alpha, thank you very much.

Are you serious about this?

Im serious.

Ive heard whats been happening with you in the Alliance. For all the spiritual spring water youve given me, I guess I can help you this much.

Lilith plucked the tenderest leaf from her core and handed it to me.

Im actually a Fertility Tree. Eat this, and I guarantee youll get pregnant on the first try.

So thats what you do! And here you were, telling me eating your leaves would double my power and grant me eternal youth.

I couldnt help but laugh as I took the leaf.

Dont you dare laugh at me!

Haha, alright, alright.

You have to come back safe and sound. Ill be waiting for you to water me.

I know, I know.

I waved her off and started walking in the direction of Silent Peak.

4.

Following the method, I broke the barrier, and Silent Peak revealed itself before me.

From the outside, the mountain was shrouded in a mystical fog, like a paradise. But in reality, a deathly aura permeated the entire peak, casting a dark, oppressive shadow.

The path snaked upwards, covered in dry leaves and shattered stones. There were no living creatures to be seen, not a single spark of life to be felt. Even the wind was silent. It was deathly still.

Theres no sun, so how is it getting hotter?

I muttered, wiping sweat from my brow. The elders used to say Silent Peak was filled with primordial life energy, a sacred place for werewolves to grow their power. How had it become this lifeless husk?

Finding the Lycan could wait. I needed water, or I was going to die of thirst right here.

As soon as I entered the mountain, my body began to burn. I felt dizzy and disoriented. A sense of dread crept into my heart.

Thankfully, it wasnt long before I heard the sound of water. Following it, I came upon a pool.

I didnt have time to consider the danger. The heat consuming my body had clouded my mind. I shifted into my wolf form and plunged in.

The cool water did little to quench the fire inside me. A blaze ignited deep within my core, and my entire body became hypersensitive.

Of all the fucking times for my heat to arrive.

I tried to channel my power to calm myself, but it had little effect.

Even for an Alpha, desire is a biological instinct that cant be denied.

This was why our kind had to find mates upon reaching maturity. Otherwise, those who couldnt endure it would be tortured to death by their own bodies.

Dammit! If only there was a male wolf here.

I glanced around in frustration.

Wait. There was a cave in the pool, glowing faintly with a golden light.

Could this be the Moonlit Core? And inside was that?

Holding my breath, I slowly swam into the cave. There he was. A Golden Lycan, his eyes closed, coiled atop a stone pillar.

This Lycan was more magnificent than any golden wolf I had ever seen, his form the pinnacle of our kind.

I didnt dare make a sound. I flew to his side, my paws trembling as I took out the Moonpetal Pollen and held it under his nose. Just being near him sent waves of heat crashing through me, stronger than ever.

A moment later, the Lycans eyes snapped open. He launched himself from the pillar with lightning speed. With a thunderous crash, the pillar crumbled behind him.

I scrambled backward, but the wolf lunged toward me. His gaze was a physical assault. Did the pollen not work?

I tried to run, but my body was too weak. I collapsed to the ground.

The Lycan let out a roar, shot past me, and burst out of the cave, churning the waters of the pool into a violent frenzy.

Then he charged back in. Just as I thought he was about to kill me, he spoke.

Ive finally been waiting for you.

The Lycan began to circle me, then nudged me up with his body.

His skin was burning hot, just like mine. Our breathing grew ragged and chaotic. Our eyes met, and in his, I saw the same raw hunger I felt.

He extended his claws, but his touch was gentle as he pulled me into his embrace, wrapping himself around me tighter and tighter. My vision blurred as I looked down at our entangled bodies.

My God, his he was enormous!

His powerful male essence was stirring, ready. My heart pounded. I swallowed hard, a sudden urge to flee seizing me.

But my mind, lost in the haze of my heat, was no longer in control. My body was limp, completely at the mercy of this powerful Lycan.

He was skilled, his touch sending shivers of pleasure through me. I started to seriously doubt whether the Moonpetal Pollen had any effect on him at all.

Do you like it?

His voice was a low, husky growl. It was the second thing he had said to me.

His body coiled around mine, stealing the last shred of my sanity.

5.

When I opened my eyes again, the Lycan was sleeping soundly beside me.

Did I succeed? Did I get his seed?

I slowly moved his paw from my body, terrified of waking him. The Moonpetal Pollen should keep him unconscious for a while. I had to get out of here before he woke up.

Im sorry. I had no other choice but to borrow a seed from you. Please dont hold it against me.

After whispering my apology, I quickly left the Moonlit Core.

My body felt light and refreshed, the fire of my heat finally quenched. The journey down the mountain was much easier.

The trees that were dead and withered yesterday were now sprouting new buds. But it wasnt spring.

As I descended, I saw more and more withered trees coming back to life. I could feel life force slowly returning to the mountain.

But I had no time to linger and observe these strange phenomena. I ran all the way home.

You wretched thing! Where have you been sneaking off to these past two days?

I ran right into my father at the gate. I quickly bowed my head in respect.

Father, I was just out for a walk to clear my head. I wasnt sneaking around.

I tried to butter him up by massaging his shoulders.

Alright, alright.

You dont need to be so sad anymore. The council of elders has made arrangements for your marriage.

Arrangements? What arrangements?

I stopped what I was doing.

Ahem, youre not getting any younger. The elders have selected a few Omega black wolves for you to meet.

What? You want me to go on blind dates?

The werewolf population was dwindling, so marriage and childbirth were taken very seriously.

Their bloodlines might not match yours, but given your current situation, you cant afford to be picky.

My father sighed.

No! I wont do it.

I refused flatly.

Its not up to you! You are not to go anywhere for the next two days. You will behave and wait for them to arrive!

My father snorted, flicked his sleeves, and stormed off. The guards at the side then escorted me inside.

What the hell is this shit?

Staring at the barred gates of the courtyard, I slumped onto the stone steps in frustration.

Youre back?

Lilith sprouted from the ground, stretching her vine-like limbs.

You were gone so long, I thought Id never see you again.

It was a close call.

I grabbed one of Liliths vines and gave it a little shake.

Hey, stop shaking me! Im getting dizzy! Did you see the Golden Lycan?

I did. And it was a success.

A suc-success? Did you eat my fertility leaf?

I ate it. Do you think Ill get pregnant?

I touched my stomach.

Are you doubting me? That leaf is pure magic! You probably have a little wolf pup in there already.

Sigh.

I let out a long breath and lay back on the stone steps.

Why arent you happy? Isnt this what you wanted?

It is, but the Alliance elders want me to pick a mate and marry as soon as possible. If Im really pregnant, how can I get married?

Seeing the frown on my face, Lilith extended a long leaf and gently stroked my forehead.

This could be a perfect opportunity, couldnt it? The child needs a proper identity to be born, right?

Lilith and I fell into a contemplative silence.

Two days later, the council of elders summoned me.

Inside the Pack Hall, several elders sat in the seats of honor. My father and stepmother were there, as were that insufferable werewolf couple.

Elara, this is Kaelen Stone. Although he is a low-ranking Omega black wolf, his family is wealthy, and he has no living elders. Marrying him wouldnt be a slight to your status. Such conditions are rare among Omegas.

An elder spoke.

Just one?

My father had clearly said there would be several for me to choose from. The moment the words left my mouth, I heard a snicker.

Hahaha, Elara, in your current situation, who would want to marry you? You should be grateful theres even one. You think you can still be picky? Chloe covered her mouth, exchanging a look with her husband. My father shot them a glare, and they fell silent.

Elara, as your mother, I must say something. Omegas may not be the most handsome, but if hes suitable, you should just accept it.

My stepmother adopted a tone of deep concern, acting as if she were my real mother. She never showed any care for me on normal days, only putting on this act in front of my father and the elders.

Omegas were not only the weakest in power, but their appearances were generally less striking than Alphas.

Where is he?

As I spoke, a familiar aura washed over me.

A man stepped out from behind a screen.

He was shockingly handsome, but it was a raw, untamed sort of beauty.

Messy black hair fell across his forehead, casting shadows over his stormy grey eyes. His features were sharpDhigh cheekbones, a straight nose, a strong jawDand the slight upturn at the corners of his eyes made him look both defiant and challenging.
