After I Wished My Female Bro Was a Real Man, My “Bros Before Hoes” Husband Went Crazy

Lucas and I went to Miami Beach for our honeymoon, but he was busy flirting with his bro, Chloe Charlie Sullivan, while rubbing sunscreen on her back.

You got your boobs down, ah? They feel good, he said, his hand lingering way too low on her waist.

Watching my husband's hand explore Charlie's lower back, I kept my face a calm mask while the plastic cup in my hand shattered.

Lucas wasn't happy. He scowled at me.

"Can't you be cool for once? Charlie and I are like this all the time. Why do you always overthink things?"

Charlie shot me a challenging look.

"Don't be mad, Emma. Lucas and I have known each other since diapers. We've seen each other at our worst. We are pure bros."

"My only regret is being born a girl. If I could choose, I wanna be a man, just to stop the stupid assumptions."

Lucas kept his arm around her waist, shaking his head at me.

"I wish you could be more understanding. Don't ruin what we have."

They didn't know I was a transmigrator. After completing my last world's mission, the System promised me one wish.

Since they were so desperate to be "bros," I decided to grant Charlie her wish to become a real man!

...

"I wish for Chloe Sullivan's deepest desire to be fulfilled. Make her a real man!"

The System replied instantly:

< Due to the complexity of anatomical restructuring, the gender transition will take seven days to complete.>

So, in seven days, Charlie would become a man. I bit my lip hard to keep from laughing out loud.

Charlie, obliviously, hooked her arm around Lucas's neck, pulling him close against her chest.

"Zach's BBQ must be almost ready. Come on, I am starving!"

Lucas clicked his tongue in annoyance but obediently ducked his head, letting her manhandle him.

Even after seeing it countless times, the sight still made my eyes sting.

During the blue hour on the beach, everyone gathered in a circle.

I moved to sit next to Lucas, but Charlie quickly sat beside him.

"Oops! Hope you don't mind me sitting here, Emma?" she chirped.

Before I could speak, Lucas jumped in. "It's just a spot, Emma."

I kept my expression neutral and sat down somewhere else.

Lucas's face darkened briefly before Charlie's chatter pulled his attention away.

When the BBQ arrived, Lucas grabbed a skewer of grilled shrimp and offered it to me.

"Your favorite seafood. Stop being angry."

I was surprised but took it. Charlie immediately pretended outrage, grabbing Lucas's ear.

"You ungrateful mutt! You forgot your bros starving? Typical, putting your girl before your bro!"

Lucas played along, yelping dramatically before hastily presenting her with BBQ chicken wings.

Everyone laughed at the ridiculous scene.

I pressed my lips together, staring at the shrimp skewer in my hand.

Connor Reed came to sit beside me and offered to trade his grilled calamari for my shrimp.

I felt relieved.

A near-stranger noticed I didn't like shrimp. But Lucas, who I'd been with for four years, didn't have a clue. Maybe all those years together didn't mean as much as I thought.

Later, bored after dinner, the group clamored to play "Never Have I Ever."

Most rounds involved harmless work or life stories.

When it was Charlie's turn, she smirked, locking eyes with me. "I've seen the video of Lucas and Emma in bed."

The lively atmosphere died instantly. My mind went blank. I disbelievingly stared at Lucas.

He just chuckled helplessly and swatted Charlie's butt. "Why bring that up now?"

Zach quickly tried to smooth things over. "Oh, you mean the video where Lucas was blow-drying Emma's hair in bed? We've all seen that! Drink up!"

"Not that one!" Charlie stood up, swaying her beer bottle suggestively.

"Lucas was way awesome in bed. Emma was practically screaming. You guys should've heard"

Lucas shoved a skewer into her mouth. "Shut up! We agreed to keep that private! Why say it now?"

Charlie pouted. "Where's the fun in that? This game needs spice!"

"Emma's cool, she won't mind, right? Besides, I've seen way hotter stuff. If you keep shutting me up, and I'll spill everything!"

A buzzing filled my ears.

The next thing I knew, the beer bottle in my hand was crashing down towards Charlie's head.

The bottle exploded against Lucas's back, glass flying everywhere.

At the last second, he'd thrown himself in front of Charlie.

My eyes stung, but he didn't notice, glaring at me furiously.

"Emma, can you stop acting like a spoiled brat?"

"I try to include you with my friends, and you can't even take a joke? You totally killed the mood!"

"If we weren't already married, I'd call the cops! Maybe a night in jail would knock some sense into you!"

Charlie stood up, radiating triumph.

"Come on, bro. Let's leave the whiny little girl to her tantrums. She's exhausting."

Lucas shot me a "you're on your own" look and followed her.

The ocean breeze was cold, but my heart was colder.

His friends exchanged awkward glances, mumbled excuses, and drifted away, leaving me alone on the sand, staring at the horizon.

For four years, I'd believed Lucas was the perfect husband.

He remembered every anniversary, and everytime he would give me handmade gifts.

Flowers arrived at my office every Friday, making my coworkers jealous.

If I mention a restaurant, and he'd drive me there the next day.

Our parents met and approved our marriage.

We'd even gotten the marriage license early in our age. Our wedding was next month.

But all that goodness vanished when it came to his "bro," Charlie.

When Charlie returned from abroad, he secretly picked her up late at night.

As for the lunches he packed for me? He would pack one for her too.

But looking closely, hers was always better.

He claimed he was too busy to pick me up in the rain, yet I saw him laughing with Charlie at the mall arcade all afternoon.

Whenever I got upset, he'd dismiss me: "I see her as a man! How could anything happen?"

"We're just bros. Stop making it dirty."

If they insisted on being such good "bros," then once Charlie became a real man, their bond should be even stronger, right?

I couldnt help laughing. Suddenly, a roll of bandages appeared in front of me.

"Your hand's cut. You should bandage it."

I looked down. My right hand was bleeding from the broken glass.

Seeing me frozen, Connor Reed gently took my hand and started bandaging it carefully.

I thanked him. He didn't leave, but picked up a beer bottle and started drinking.

We sat like that all night, until the horizon lit up with the most beautiful sunrise I'd ever seen. I snapped a picture and posted it on my Instagram Story: "Rebirth."

We took a cab back to the hotel and ran straight into Lucas going out of Charlie's room, hair disheveled.

Seeing me, his face paled. He started to explain, but Charlie popped out from behind him right on cue.

Overnight, just as the System predicted, Charlie's body had begun changing.

The faint fuzz above her lip was darker, her body hair thicker and coarser.

She seemed oblivious of the changes, clinging to Lucas's arm. "Emma, Lucas is a beast in bed. You're in for a treat!"

"Shut up!" Lucas roughly shook her off and hurried to my side.

"Emma, don't misunderstand! We just played video games all night!"

I lowered my gaze, catching the telltale way his fingers scratched at his pant leg C his unconscious habit when lying.

But inside, I felt strangely calm. In a few days, he'd deeply regret last night.

I turned and swiped my keycard. Lucas shoved past me into the room.

"Okay, you were out of line yesterday, but I messed up too... Let's call it even? Stop being mad."

I nodded indifferently.

He finally smiled. "I remember there is a Ferris wheel nearby? You kept saying you wanted to go. Let's go this afternoon."

I was stunned.

Before the trip, I'd seen a post claiming if couples kissed at the top of a Ferris wheel, they'd be together forever.

I'd begged him to go, but he called me childish. Now he was suggesting it?

Just then, Charlie's voice echoed from the hallway: "Bro! Help me pick an outfit! Hitting the Ferris wheel this afternoon, I will take beautiful pictures."

She barged in, twirled in a dress.

Ah. So that was why. Instantly, I understood.

Lucas's eyes lit up. "Whoa! You always dress like a boy, Charlie. I didn't know you could dress up so nice!"

Charlie punched his arm.

"Duh! I just dont care how I look. If I put on beautiful dress, millions of men would fall in love with me."

Watching them, I said coldly, "I'm not feeling well. I dont wanna go to the Ferris wheel."

Charlie rolled her eyes hard. "Buzzkill."

Lucas, however, looked visibly relieved. He just told me to rest well.

I slept all afternoon. When I woke up, my best friend's chat was flooded with 99+ messages.

Scrolling to the top, I saw a screenshot from a video.

When the Ferris wheel car was at its peak, a man and a woman locked in a kiss.

Caption: "Seeing the whole city from the top... felt like the whole world was just us."

The profiles were painfully familiar.

The next 98 messages were all 60-second voice notes.

Opening one unleashed my friend's fury: "That bastard Lucas cheated! I'll kill them!"

It wasn't until I explained about the System granting my wish that she finally burst into relieved laughter.

At dinner the next day, Lucas kept watching me. Only when he saw I seemed normal did he relieve.

During the meal, Charlie was her usual clingy self with Lucas.

But soon, she suddenly felt sick, covered her mouth, and bolted for the restroom.

As everyone stared, Lucas jumped up, muttering about needing the bathroom too.

Watching them disappear around the corner, I picked up my plate and casually moved to a serving station near the stairwell.

Charlie's voice, thick with tears, drifted out: "I... my period's late! What if I'm pregnant?!"

"I told you to wear a condom! What did we do? You have to take responsibility!"

After a pause, Lucas's low, soothing voice: "Don't worry. I'll handle it."

I bit my lip hard to stifle my laughter.

The nausea from her body's transformation made Charlie think she was pregnant!

Counting the days, her full transformation was only three days away. I couldn't wait for D-Day.
