I Dissolved Our Bond After My Son Died
The Alpha Prince favored Seraphina, the sickly werewolf who had saved his life.
He gave her every rare herb and ancient relic in our pack's treasury.
When our son was burning with a silver-fever and needed the Ancient Silver-Root to survive, Caleb took it.
He used the only life-saving root in the territory to make a tonic for Seraphina's cough.
In my past life, I knelt before him, begging for just a sliver of the root for my dying boy.
He pushed me away with cold impatience.
"Leo only has a fever. Give him some water and he will be fine," he snapped. "Seraphina is weak. She needs the Silver-Root more than he does."
I watched my son take his last breath in my arms.
Driven by madness, I carried his cold body to the Alpha's kitchen.
There, I saw the mighty Alpha Caleb stirring a pot of soup for that woman.
In total despair, I set the manor on fire, letting the flames consume all three of us.
When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the day I discovered I was pregnant.
This time, I will not let this child suffer.
I will end the pregnancy, dissolve our mate bond, and never see him again.

I leaned over the vanity, retching until I felt like my insides were coming up.
Caleb stood by the door, watching me with a look of pure annoyance.
"Every female wolf carries pups," he said, his voice cold. "Why are you being so dramatic? Do you really need me here for this?"
"Am I a healer? What do you want me to do?"
I looked at my reflection in the mirror.
My face was ghostly pale, and my lips were cracked and dry.
The pain of losing my son and the searing heat of the fire still felt fresh in my mind.
In my previous life, Caleb worshiped Seraphina because she had saved him during a rogue attack.
He took my own healing elixirs and sent them all to her pack house.
Back then, I stayed quiet and managed the territory's affairs with all my heart.
But it wasn't enough for him.
He let our son die for a bowl of soup, and he didn't even shed a single tear.
While I was mourning, he was playing house with Seraphina.
Fate has given me a second chance.
"It's nothing," Caleb said, turning to leave as a servant handed him a carved wooden box.
I forced myself to stand up, ignoring the dizziness.
"Wait," I called out. "Those are the lunar supplements my father sent from the Vance Estate."
"Are you giving those to Seraphina too?"
He stopped, his eyes flashing with irritation.
"Seraphina's constitution is fragile," he justified. "These will help her recover."
"You can just ask the pack healer to brew you something else later."
I let out a sharp, mocking laugh.
"Those elixirs were part of my dowry, Caleb. Are you really stealing from your own Luna's inheritance?"
My family had spent a fortune to have a Great Shaman craft those for my weak health.
Each one was worth more than a dozen gold coins.
Ever since Seraphina got 'hurt,' Caleb had been raiding my treasury like a common thief.
His face turned a dark shade of red, half in shame and half in rage.
"It's just some medicine! We can always get more!"
"Seraphina can't wait that long. She needs them now!"
He looked at me with disgust.
"For a Luna and a future Queen, you are incredibly petty. You have no grace at all."
"Stay in your room and reflect on your selfishness."
He slammed the door and headed straight for Seraphina's quarters.
I watched his retreating back and smiled bitterly.
I remembered going to her house in my last life.
She had leaned into Caleb's chest, looking like a wounded bird.
"Luna, please don't be angry," she had whispered, her eyes full of fake tears.
"Caleb is only looking after me because I saved him. We are completely innocent."
But her eyes had been full of triumph as she clung to his arm.
Caleb had looked at her with such tenderness.
"Are you hungry, Seraphina? I'll go to the kitchen and cook something for you myself."
Caleb was always the proud, distant Alpha with me.
I thought he was just a serious man who didn't understand romance.
But he wasn't cold. He just didn't love me.
He was willing to lower himself to the kitchen for her, but not for his own wife.
I shook off the memories and sat back on the bed.
I won't be the pathetic, begging wife this time.
Since he loves her so much, I'll step aside and let them have each other.
I touched my flat stomach, feeling a sharp pang in my heart.
I'm sorry, Leo. I can't let you come into this world just to be neglected again.
My stomach felt empty and my head was spinning.
I called for a servant to bring me some Lunar Nectar to settle my nerves.
The girl hesitated, looking at the floor.
"The Alpha... he took all the nectar to the Lyall house for Miss Seraphina."

The room dimmed as anger flared in my chest.
I took several deep breaths to keep from passing out.
"Fine," I whispered. "Just bring me a bowl of plain porridge."
The warm food finally settled my stomach, and the nausea began to fade.
A wave of sadness washed over me.
In the Vance Pack, I was the most pampered daughter.
If I even sneezed, a dozen people would rush to help me.
But in the Blackwood Pack, I was more alone than a stray omega.
Once I felt strong enough, I sent for a human doctor from the nearby town.
I didn't want a pack healer who would report everything to Caleb.
I touched my belly one last time, whispering a final goodbye.
"Forgive me, little one. I am not fit to be your mother in this life. Go find a better family."
The doctor trembled when I told him what I wanted.
"Luna... does the Alpha know about this?"
I laughed, a dry and hollow sound.
"He doesn't care. Besides, my body is too weak to carry this pup anyway."
The doctor looked at me with pity.
"Are you absolutely sure, Luna?"
I nodded slowly. What was there to think about?
In my last life, I suffered through nine months of agonizing pregnancy.
I couldn't eat or sleep, and I lost so much weight I looked like a skeleton.
Caleb never noticed. He was too busy making sure Seraphina was glowing.
When my mother came to visit, she cried at the sight of me.
"My sweet girl, I should never have let you marry him," she had sobbed.
Who would have guessed the Great Luna would live such a miserable life?
Caleb Blackwood doesn't deserve to be a father or a husband.
He only knows how to take my things and give them to his mistress.
The memory of Leo's cold, lifeless body made it hard to breathe.
"You are too weak right now," the doctor said softly.
"If we do this today, you might not survive the blood loss."
"Take these herbs for two weeks to build your strength first."
I took the prescription and had my maid escort him out quietly.

Caleb didn't come home that night.
The Blackwood Manor felt like a graveyard.
I thought about the laughter and warmth at Seraphina's house.
They looked like a real family, while I was just a ghost in the hallway.
I ignored the ache in my chest and started making a list.
I ordered my maids to begin inventorying my dowry and packing my bags.
One of the girls brought me a dusty scroll she found in the back of the vault.
When I unrolled it, I saw the portrait from our wedding day.
We were both smiling. We looked so happy.
Caleb had commissioned the best artist in the country for this.
He told me he would keep it forever and be buried with it.
I stared at it for a long time before holding it over a flickering candle.
I watched the flames eat away at our smiling faces until only ash remained.
The Amara Vance who loved Caleb was dead.
She died in that fire with her son.
Just as the last of my trunks were being locked, Caleb finally walked in.
The softness in his eyes vanished the moment he saw me.
"You look much better," he said, his voice flat.
"I knew you were exaggerating. You aren't that fragile."
I didn't even bother to respond.
My face was still pale, but he chose to be blind to it.
As I turned to go to my inner chamber, he followed me.
He cleared his throat, trying to sound helpful.
"I heard you wanted some new jewelry."
"I picked this out for you today."
He held out a cheap wooden hairpin with crude carvings.
I almost laughed in his face. 'Picked out'?
He probably grabbed it from a street vendor on his way back.
In my past life, I would have been touched by such a 'thoughtful' gift.
Now, I could see it for what it was: a low-effort insult.
He saw that I wasn't screaming and took it as a sign of forgiveness.
"I remember your nanny, Martha, is an expert in female recovery."
"Send her to the Lyall house. Seraphina hasn't been sleeping well."
I felt a chill run down my spine.
He wanted to take my personal staff to serve his mistress now?
The man had no shame.
"No," I said firmly.
"It's settled then... wait, what? You said no?"
Caleb froze, shocked by my defiance.
Usually, I would swallow my anger just to keep the peace.
"Are you disobeying your Alpha?"
His expression hardened, and he towered over me, trying to use his presence to crush me.
"Call it whatever you want," I said, looking him in the eye.
My heart was like ice.
I had given him everything, and he treated me like an obstacle.
"I want a divorce," I said clearly. "I'm dissolving the bond."
