Your First Love Wants My Eyes

Your First Love Wants My Eyes

It was my girlfriend's birthday.

I went to the hospital where she worked, carrying a gift. I hid behind a curtain, hoping to surprise her.

Instead, I heard her first love, Lysander St. Claire, ask a chilling question. How do you plan to take Elias Sterling's eyes?

Victoria Ashford replied coldly. I will stage an accident in three days. As the attending physician, I can naturally transfer his eyes to you.

My heart skipped a beat. I remembered her confession to me.

It happened right after Lysander injured his eyes while supposedly saving her.

She showered me with affection and praised my beautiful eyes. It was all a lie to steal them.

But she didn't know the truth. I was the one who actually saved her that day.

"I know this is unfair to Elias, but I really want to see you again," Lysander said, his voice trembling with a hint of sorrow.

"I was only good to him because of those eyes," Victoria coaxed him gently. "I can always give him more compensation money later."

A sharp pain stabbed my chest.

Through the gap in the curtain, I saw Victoria stand on her tiptoes to kiss him.

Lysander's ears turned red as he kissed her back.

I stood frozen behind the curtain. My blood ran cold, and I felt like I was falling into an abyss.

Tears hit the gift box in my hands. The Rolex she wanted had cost me a whole year's salary.

Looking at it now, it felt like a cruel joke.

"Let me take you back," Victoria said, smoothing his hair.

"Are you in a rush to get rid of me? Are you afraid Elias will find me here?" Lysander teased.

Victoria paused. "I'm just worried about your health. I want you to rest."

"Fine," Lysander hummed and turned around.

Victoria quickly took his hand as they walked out together.

The office fell silent again.

I fought back the agonizing pain in my heart and walked toward the Chief of Nursing's office.

"Chief, I want to apply for a two-year academic exchange program at an out-of-state hospital."

The Chief looked surprised. "Didn't Dr. Ashford refuse to let you go before? Did you change your mind?"

"This is my life. She doesn't get to make decisions for me anymore."

"If you've made up your mind, then cherish this chance," the Chief nodded.

I thanked him and left.

When I got home after work, I started packing my clothes.

The doorbell rang aggressively.

I opened the door to find Victoria standing there with a frown. Her voice sounded panicked. "Why did you apply for that exchange program?"

"It's a rare opportunity. I want to improve my career," I said calmly.

Victoria was stunned.

"Elias, did I do something wrong? Are you mad at me?"

Her sudden display of concern made me daze for a moment.

In the past, she was always so sweet. I never thought about leaving her to pursue my own goals.

But now I knew her care was just a way to groom me into an organ donor for her obsession.

I curled my lips into a cold smile. "I'm just tired of revolving my whole life around you."

Victoria's brow furrowed. "I know I've been busy lately. I'll make it up to you. Don't be childish, okay?"

"Didn't you say you had a surprise for your birthday?"

Her eyes landed on the gift box on the table. She walked inside and opened it.

When she saw the watch, her eyes lit up. "Elias! You remembered I wanted this!"

"You listened to my casual remarks. It proves how much you love me. You were just talking out of anger, right?"

I snatched the watch back from her hands. My gaze was icy.

"This isn't for you."

She looked shocked. "Elias, are you joking with me?"

"I'm tired. Let's break up," I said coldly.

Victoria froze. "Why? What did I do that makes you want to end things?"

"You and..."

Before I could finish, her phone rang.

She glanced at the screen and her expression changed instantly. She hurried to the side to answer it.

I watched her with a cold gaze. Her face grew serious.

"I have an emergency," she said after hanging up. "Wait for me to come back."

The process for my hospital transfer was moving forward.

The next day, I went to work as usual.

During a break, I heard colleagues whispering. They said Lysander was hospitalized for eye pain last night, and Victoria stayed by his side all night.

One colleague couldn't help but ask me. "Everyone knows Dr. Ashford spent the night with Lysander St. Claire."

"Don't you mind?"

"We broke up," I said simply.

The staff looked like they had just heard the biggest scandal of the year.

"You two were so in love! What happened?" someone pressed.

"I haven't agreed to a breakup yet," Victoria's voice cut through the silence.

I stood up to leave, and she chased after me.

She blocked my path in the hospital hallway.

"Elias, tell me what I did wrong. I can change!"

I let out a cold laugh. "There's no need. We are done."

I turned and walked away quickly.

I only had two days left before Victoria's planned accident. I had to arrange everything before then.

In the afternoon, I met with the Chief to finalize my transfer. I asked him to speed up the paperwork.

Then, I went back to my desk to organize my patient files. I sorted them at maximum speed.

I marked all the key transition points so my colleagues could take over easily.

Just as I took a breath, Victoria grabbed my arm.

"Are you breaking up with me because you're jealous of Lysander? I promise to keep my distance. Stop acting out!"

I shook her off and gave her a sharp look.

"What you do with Lysander is none of my business. Stop harassing me."

Nearby colleagues were staring and whispering.

Victoria felt like she was losing face. She leaned in and whispered a warning. "You better come back to me, or I won't let this go easily."

She walked away in a huff.

A few close colleagues came over to comfort me.

I smiled and told them I was fine.

As I walked out of the hospital after my shift, I saw Victoria again.

Before I could react, she rushed over and covered my mouth. She dragged me toward a car parked nearby.

I wasn't prepared and lost my balance.

She was surprisingly strong, and I couldn't break free.

She forced me into the car and jumped into the driver's seat, locking the doors immediately.

"Victoria! What are you doing!" I shouted.

Her voice was chillingly calm. "I just want to give your eyes to Lysander. I'll make it up to you later. Just help me this once."

I slapped her across the face.

"His eyes are precious, but mine aren't?"

She clutched her cheek, her eyes filled with rage. "It's just your eyes! It's not your life! Why are you so selfish?"

"Then why don't you give him your own eyes?"

"Elias Sterling!" Victoria yelled. "I told you I'd compensate you! Isn't that enough? I'm taking those eyes today whether you like it or not!"

She pulled a handkerchief from her pocket and pressed it over my nose and mouth.

It smelled pungent. I thrashed my head, trying to fight back.

Slowly, my limbs went limp. I lost the ability to move, though a sliver of consciousness remained.

Victoria drove the car to a remote mountain road.

She had already prepared the site for the fake accident.

When she reached the spot, she suddenly jerked the steering wheel.

The tires screeched as the car "lost control" and slammed into the guardrail.

The impact hit my head hard. I fell into total darkness.

Victoria pretended to be lightly injured. She crawled out and called for an ambulance.

Soon, we were rushed back to the hospital.

Using her authority, she bypassed the usual protocols and scheduled an emergency surgery.

She told everyone my eyes were severely damaged in the crash. She claimed my corneas were ruptured and I had internal bleeding.

She produced forged medical reports to back her story.

The unsuspecting staff began preparing for the transplant.

Meanwhile, Lysander was already waiting in a secret room for his stolen gift.

I slowly regained consciousness in the operating room. My head felt like it was exploding.

The room was cold and quiet, except for the rhythmic beeping of the monitors.

I heard voices from the adjoining room.

"Victoria, what if Elias hates me when he finds out the truth?"

"Lysander, you injured your eyes to save me. I promised to bring your sight back. I'll handle Elias. I won't let him hurt you. Don't worry."

Hearing this felt like a lightning strike.

Victoria and I were organizing medical supplies in an old hospital warehouse.

Lysander was there as a pharmaceutical rep, checking samples.

An electrical short started a massive fire. The flames spread instantly.

Smoke filled the air. A shelf fell on Victoria, trapping her in the fire.

I risked everything to save her. I got a permanent scar on my right arm from the burns. Lysander had run away long before that.

After the accident, Victoria confessed her love to me. I thought it was mutual affection.

I never realized her sweetness was a mask. She loved Lysander because she wrongly thought he was her savior.

But I was the one who pulled her out of that hell!

I wanted to scream, but no sound came out of my throat.

A moment later, Victoria entered in her surgical scrubs. she picked up a gleaming scalpel.

My eyes widened. I watched her every move. My heart pounded against my ribs.

"BANG!"

The operating room door was kicked open.

A group of police officers rushed inside.
